Agentic AI Specialist – Flows & Automation

Sensory is expanding its AI team with an Agentic Specialist who will design and implement multi-step agentic tools, and on-device and hybrid agent flows that connect wake words, STT, SLMs, and downstream actions. This role sits at the intersection of product, engineering, and customer deployment, translating real-world use cases into robust agentic workflows.

Location: Remote – US, Americas, and Europe  preferred

Compensation: Base salary: $135,000 – $175,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Design end-to-end agent flows that combine wake word detection, on-device STT, micro-NLU, SLM/LLM orchestration, and business logic for verticals like automotive, smart home, and devices.
  • Build and maintain reusable flow templates and automation components that customers and internal teams can configure for their own products.
  • Prototype, test, and optimize agentic behaviors for latency, accuracy, safety, and resource usage on constrained hardware.
  • Collaborate with Product to define requirements and with Engineering to integrate flows into Sensory SDKs, APIs, and developer tools.
  • Work directly with key customers’ technical teams to design and refine agentic experiences for their devices and applications.
  • Instrument flows for observability, logging, and evaluation, enabling continuous improvement and A/B testing.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in technical roles such as Solutions Architect, ML Engineer, Full Stack AI Engineer, Conversational Designer, or Automation/Workflow Engineer.
  • Hands-on experience building agentic systems or complex automations using LLMs, workflow engines, or conversational AI platforms.
  • Solid understanding of speech and language pipelines (wake word → STT → NLU/SLM → actions), and of on-device vs cloud trade-offs.
  • Proficiency in at least two major programming languages (Python, Java, and C/C+ preferred) and comfort working with LLM code generators, APIs, SDKs, and cloud services.
  • Strong system-thinking skills, able to turn conceptual requirements into well-structured flows and edge-case handling.
  • Excellent command of conversational and relevant technical English.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with embedded or resource-constrained environments, including optimizing for memory, CPU, and power.
  • Knowledge of safety, alignment, and evaluation techniques for agentic AI, including guardrails and fallback strategies.
  • Experience with AI code generation, building fault tolerant solutions, and robust testing processes.
